Russia has been waging a war of aggression against Ukraine since February 2022. This invasion of a sovereign state is a blatant violation of international law and is shaking the foundations of the European security order.
How, in the midst of a supposedly safe Europe, did this war come about? As talk of a peace agreement in Ukraine gains traction, Germany is considering how such an accord might be secured – and whether its own troops should take part.
