Research profile
Jamie Withorne’s research focuses on how emerging technology and geopolitics affect nuclear weapons strategic stability. In her PhD project, she explores how states and alliances pursue strategic stability across national, regional, and multilateral contexts. By combining text analysis, archival research, satellite imagery, and other qualitative methods, she aims to map the varied practices of strategic stability and identify common mechanisms for managing arms races and conflict escalation. Her research also examines NATO alliance dynamics and politics in the post-Cold War era.
